You can create digital objects in Archon's Digital Library Manager. Upon entering the Manager, a listing of finding aid titles will appear on the screen. Clicking on a title will present a listing of the digital objects associated with the collection, plus an "Add New" function to create a new object. From that point, you can enter metadata for the object. Drop-down menus are available based upon the EAD component level information (an example is shown below, which shows the options for the series, box, and folder levels). This shows, from the object creation perspective, the close integration between EAD and digital objects.
In the search interface, objects can be accessed through the Digital Library browse function or through the hyperlinked subjects. Links aren't currently provided in the "Formatted HTML" view, which is a negative. Subject browsing enables you to access both "Digital Content Results" and "Collection Results" (the latter for EAD).
