I'm currently involved in the Summit system migration to OCLC WorldCat Navigator. One supporting piece of the Navigator solution that I'm just starting to focus on is the WorldCat Registry. In this case, the registry information is being used by VDX (or, Navigator Request Engine) as a source of information for Alliance institutions.
This FAQ document is a great starting source of information.
