I came across this news release regarding a partnership between Relais International and Index Data to create "a 'seamless end to end discovery to delivery solution' for Resource Sharing."
Two standards that play an important part in the Orbis Cascade Alliance's WorldCat Navigator implementation, Z39.50 and NCIP, provide the supporting framework for this new solution.
I really liked the Relais Enterprise hardware/software system when I worked with it a decade ago at NLM. I noticed that Colorado State University (a peer of WSU's) licensed Relais Enterprise earlier this fall. Still, the OCLC combination of ILLiad and its other resource sharing and discovery tools make Relais' penetration into research libraries a challenge.
