Marshall Breeding's Library Technology Reports published a news release on VTLS' Virtua software and its support for archival materials.
According to the release, Virtua now supports ISAD(G) hierarchies: Fonds, Sub-fonds, Sub-sub fond, Series, Sub-series, Files, Items (7 levels). Its support extends to content creation: "easy creation of and insertion into the hierarchy of child or parent records"; I need to learn more about how this is accomplished (for example, through the Virtua [client] software?; how user friendly is the content creation software?)
On the archival front: In the next few days, I will be loading and testing the most recent version of UIUC's Archon (2.10).
