more social networking - application in libraries

This morning, I'm attending a session on the application of social networking tools in libraries. Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe (at podium) is speaking on the work being done at UIUC, including integration of library resouces into campus CMS presentations. The WSU Libraries has done some work in this area thru e-reserves access integration into myWSU; this service must be made more automated and routinized. One intriguing idea that she just described is using virtual reality software (Second Life Exploration was the selected tool at UIUC) to enable undergraduate students to participate in any redesigns of the undergraduate library. Right now, David Lee King is speaking on the application of social networking tools in a county library system setting.
