Jerry Kline, CEO of Innovative, is wrapping up his corporate update for the conference. He noted that Millennium is the leader in ARLs, as indicated ion Marshall Breeding's rankings. He also described III's software development model, which is increasingly focused upon partner development relationships and a willingness to on III's part to release flawed software to its development partners. Kline did note the consolidation among major players, with about six major players (including III and the OCLC/FDI/Atlas/DiMeMa combination). He expressed concern over this evolution in the marketplace, though he didn't elaborate on this point (as to why he's concerned). Kline did emphasize the difficulty of building systems over the long term for the library marketplace, which is very believable, given its changes in the last decade.
