more on APIs - what if Amazon was an OPAC??

David Walker of CSU San Marcos used the Amazon Web Services to create a beautiful OPAC interface for books through Amazon. This came up during a day one session on creating mashups using Millennium data as a data source. It's got issues (like, the search results if you retrieve zero hits; .NET error handling problem), but it does illustrate flaws in the OPAC approach, especially the read-only nature of the system.
